Margo
Faircloth
has been dancing on and off all her life, starting
with the Sydney King Studio in Camden New Jersey in
ballet, and later with the Arthur Hall Dance Studio
in Philadelphia, where she fell in love with various
forms of African Dance. After a respite from dance
in order to raise her family, she rekindled her life-long
passion for dancing in learning social dances with
her husband. But it was Salsa that stole her heart.
Margo
has taken classes with Jim and Leah Bunting from the
Rittenhouse Dance Academy in Philadelphia, Sonya Elmore
from the La Luna Dance Studio in Bensalem, Pa., with
Barbara Capoldi from the Atrium Dance Studio in Pennsauken,
NJ, and with Juan Calderon from Cultural Explosion,
an international dance company based in NJ.
Since
Margo and her husband started dancing salsa in their
more seasoned years, their efforts were never to dance
competitively, but rather to simply enjoy the art
and creativity of dance. Margo loves the fusing of
ballroom technique with the natural and cultural evolution
of Latin dance styling. Her aim is to share what she
has come to love with all who want to learn.
Wayne Faircloth
After a brief encounter with the swing dance scene,
Wayne accidentally discovered Salsa. With a few formal
lessons under his belt, he was hooked on this form
of social dancing, and has accepted his “leadership”
role. Wayne feels that a man’s behavior on the
dance floor reveals much about himself, such as confidence,
manners, and appreciation for the dancing abilities
of others. His favorite Salsa teacher is Barbara Capoldi
of the Atrium Dance Studio in Pennsauken, NJ, where
he was a student for several years. However, he has
taken lessons from several others.Dancing for Wayne,
who is also a professional photographer, is another
avenue of expression for his creativity.
